Scottsdale Eye Physicians & Surgeons has been dedicated to improving our patients’ vision and comfort for over fifty years. Here at our state-of-the-art, full-service eye care practice we pride ourselves on delivering accurate diagnoses, offering effective treatment options, and providing ongoing care to keep our patients’ eyes healthy. We utilize the latest technology and cutting-edge surgical procedures for vision correction and treatment. In addition, our in-house optical boutique offers premium glasses with more than 500 fashionable frames to choose from.
How it all started
Scottsdale Eye Physicians & Surgeons has proudly served the community since 1972, when Dr. William R.J. Kilpatrick brought his ophthalmology practice from South Dakota to the Valley. What began as a solo endeavor quickly grew into a family legacy of care, with his son Dr. William R. Kilpatrick joining the practice in 1977, followed later by his youngest son, Dr. Dennis L. Kilpatrick.
For many years, the Kilpatrick family worked side by side, building strong, lasting relationships with patients through their shared commitment to personalized, compassionate eye care.
Today, Dr. Dennis continues that tradition with the same values at heart—now leading a dedicated team that has grown significantly since those early days. Together, they provide high-quality, patient-centered care to every person who trusts them with their vision.
As you walk through our building, you’ll see a collection of art and antiques, serving as a peek into the history of our practice and the patients we’ve served over the years. When construction began on our current building at Miller Road and Second Street in 1983, a shovel struck something hidden in the dirt—an antique eye medicine bottle. Our doctors took it as a sign that we were in the right place. Today, that bottle, along with other momentos, is proudly displayed in our waiting room. We thank our patients for their creative artworks and generous donations throughout the years.
